giveaway - sara olsen designs

Today is your lucky day.  Or, well, I think so anyway.  I'm not huge on giveaways around here, but when I find something I love I want to share it.  And thankfully Sara from Sara Olsen Designs on Etsy is going to help me do just that.

IMG_4406

Ryann's hair is a wee bit crazy.  A curly blonde crazy almost mullet of a thing that sometimes I'm not sure how to tame.  After some searching on Etsy this summer, I came across Sara's rainbow pack of simple glittery hair clips and decided to give them a try.  Best decision ever.  First of all, Sara's clips and bows aren't over priced, it was a purchase I happy to have spent the money on.  Second of all, that set of hair clips gave me something to go with nearly all of Ry's outfits.  Lastly, Sara was a doll to work with, always quick to respond to any question I've had and got me my products quickly.

It wasn't long after I made my first purchase that I had to go back for another.  I picked up that sweet little sparkle bow in the first photo, along with some more simple hair clips, a couple of shabby rosette clips, a back up silver sparkle clip and a headband for my friend.  I'm already thinking we might need these for Christmas, or these because I think you can never have too much sparkle :o).  I just might have to snag a few headbands for baby sister while I'm at it...

Sara's products are very well made.  She makes all of the products herself, with her three-year-old daughter as her inspiration.  The items are produced in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.  Sara takes the time to line all alligator clips and heat seal all ribbons, and she uses stiffner on most items so they won't lose their shape.  All it took was a simple request to have a no-slip strip added to my clips.  And they definitely stay put in Ryann's hair.

IMG_4463

Really you should hop on over to her shop and browse all she has to offer.  I have no doubt you will find something for the little princess in your life, or a great holiday present for another special little girl.  Sara has it all from the simplest hair clips to cute little bows to adorable headbands.  But even better, today you have the chance to win a grab bag of hair accessories to add to your collection.

Sara is offering one reader a grab bag of hair accessories worth approximately $20.  Once the winner is selected she will be in touch to make sure you receive age appropriate items.  She was kind enough to send me over a box of goodies similar to what the winner will receive and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.  Ryann is so excited about her new hair bows too.

::  I never did hear from the My Memories Suite giveaway winner, so I finally remembered to pick another one last night.  Comment #1, Amy (from the perfectly imperfect parent)!  How often does that happen?  Congrats Amy!  Leave me your e-mail and I'll get you the code for your free software.

::  A certain pretty little someone is 20 months old today.  Hold me!  Hopefully I'll manage a 20 month post in the near future...

::  Speaking of that little someone, Ryann has taken an extreme interest in using the potty (yes, potty training talk alert, if you aren't into that avert your eyes).  If I ask her if she wants to go she almost always says yes (I never force her if she says no) and even if her diaper is wet she will sit on that little red seat and force a few drops of pee in.  She has even dropped a #2 a few times.  But OMG we are not fully potty training yet and I have already spent WAY too much time sitting on the floor of my bathroom watching my child pee.

I'm having a wee bit of a dilemma on what to do now though.  She is great at going, but isn't keeping her diaper dry, and tells me maybe once a day that she wants to go.  I'm pretty sure if we went to underwear it would be accident city over here.  I don't think she is quite ready for that.  So do I just keep asking her if she wants to go?  Or do I just wait until she starts telling me?  Since she can 'make' herself go, I have no doubt she has some brain to pee function connection (whatever that means :o), but I don't know that she really knows before she needs to go.  Oy.  I'm thinking having her in diapers until she is 3 would be way easier (but um, a lot more expensive :o).

::  I haven't really had a chance to put up any Christmas decorations yet and I'm getting antsy!  Have you put up yours yet?  If you have, and posted pictures somewhere, leave me a link.  I'll live vicariously through you until later this week when I have some time to do my own.

::  I didn't do any shopping Friday thru Monday, and now I'm feeling like I should have.  Not that I have a ton of cash lying around to do shopping.  Just feeling a little left out on the retail therapy right now :o).  What great deals did you get?

::  Oh, and with the wee one being 20 months old, that means her second birthday is officially only four months away!  Since you guys told me it wasn't super lame, I am going to go with the alphabet theme.  My next dilemma?  Color scheme.  I don't want to use primary colors, but beyond that, I have WAY too many ideas swirling around in my head.  Part of me wants to go a vintage flashcard route, and the other part of me wants bright colors and glitter... :o).  Thoughts?

::  Happy Tuesday!

::  I completely intended to write a post last night, so that I could have the giveaway winner up first thing this morning.  It um, didn't happen.  What is it about Monday nights that make me completely unproductive?

::  I suppose you actually want to know who won the LR2 Designs giveaway...

lr2designsgiveaway

Congrats Amber!  Leave me your contact information and I will make sure you get your earrings!

::  Speaking of giveaway winners... I never received any contact info for the My Memories Suite winner.  J, if you're out there, you have until tomorrow (Wednesday) night to contact me, and if you don't I'm picking another winner!

::  Even though I ate a good sized lunch, I am STARVING right now.  Which is causing me to be unable to think or function.  But all I want?  Chocolate.  That is not going to do me much good... hmm...

::  Yesterday I forgot to add something to the post about what Ryann said... Last night we put her in gingerbread men pajamas, and of course told her that was what they were.  Because she likes to ask us questions she wants us to ask her she said, "What are you wearing tonight Ryann?"  So I responded, "Ryann, what are you wearing tonight?"  "Gingers."  And I immediately imagined footy pajamas covered in little red headed children.  Sorry :).

::  Is an alphabet themed party lame?  I'm trying to decide on a theme for Ryann's birthday party.  Yes, I realize it is over four months away, but if I want to go all Martha Stewart craftastic on it I've got to figure it out.  I can't come up with any 'theme' ideas that I'm in love with, because I want the party to be something Ryann enjoys.  But I'm refusing to host a Minnie/Mickey mouse party and the only other thing that comes to mind is the alphabet.  Bah.

::  Really, I can't concentrate at all... must go find chocolate...

lr2 designs {giveaway}

**  this giveaway is closed  **

Remember when I mentioned a special little package that I was excited about?  Well, it is finally time for me to share it with you!

lr2giveaway1

Earlier this month I was contacted by one of my sorority sisters, Lauren.  She told me that she started her own jewelry line this year, and was wondering if I would be interested in having a pair of earrings for myself and giving a pair away to my readers.  I checked the link she sent me and quickly responded with ABSOLUTELY!  The earrings were right up my alley, simply and sparkly all in one.  I'm going to assume it was the 20 some years I spent in the dance world, but show me something sparkly and I get all excited.

lr2giveaway2
note to self:  seriously, STOP trying to take self portraits, it never works like you want it to

This pair of earrings are absolutely wonderful.  They seem very sturdy and well made, and also very versatile.  I think I've worn them at least every other day since I got them.  When I first tried them on, Ryann wanted to wear them so badly!  "Ryann wear sparkles?  Ryann wear earrings?  Pease?!?"  Poor girl, I'm regretting not piercing her ears, and my mom is cringing while she reads that... moving on!  Really, I am in love with my new sparkles.

lr2giveaway3

A little excerpt from the LR2 website, "LR2 Designs seeks to provide attainable luxury creations to a discerning clientele.  LR2 Designs' products blend timeless style with superb craftsmanship and materials."  Personally, I'm an earring girl, and there are definitely several pairs of fun and galmourous earrings available.  I'm partial to these and these.

I am thrilled to be giving away one pair of LR2's signature earrings.  How do you go about entering?  Why there are several options :o).  First, please visit the LR2 Designs website and leave a comment stating your favorite piece of jewelry on the site.  For additional entries you can do any of the following:

like LR2 Designs on facebook
follow LR2 Designs on twitter
like the domestic wannabe on facebook

Please leave a separate comment for each entry!  I use random.org to pick my winner, meaning I just have the site pick a number between 1 and X, X being the number of comments on the post.  If you leave all of your entries in one comment you didn't really get any additional entries!

This giveaway will close Monday, November 21st at 10:00pm CST.  Winner will be announced Tuesday, November 22nd.

Because Lauren is my sorority sister, I figured it was a good reason to plop in this video.  A little background, I was wearing a fleece with the Chi Omega symbol on it and Ryann asked me what it said.  Naturally I broke out into song, and then she asked me to sing it over and over again.  Now she can sing almost the whole thing, but she won't let me get it on video.  No worries, this much is still adorable...

A long shot for being related to the giveaway, but a giveaway + an adorable video of my child made your day that much brighter, right?  Peace love and owls ladies, peace love and owls :o).

I received a pair of LR2's signature earrings for free, but all of the thoughts and opinions above are my own!

my memories suite {giveaway}

***  this giveaway is closed  ***

Towards the end of middle school I got pretty into scrapbooking.  Well my first album was pretty sad and pathetic looking, but throughout high school and the first year of college I printed tons of pictures, bought tons of paper and embellishments and scraped my little heart out.  I LOVE looking back at all of those memories.  I think the scrapbook presentation makes them seem very personal.

But... it was time consuming.  And if you've ever worked on a scrapbook, man, you know the mess you can make.  Tons of paper everywhere, pictures, scraps, glue, the list goes on and on.  I could spend a long time working, make a huge mess, and only be done with one or two spreads.  I got annoyed with getting everything out and putting it away over and over again.  I'm pretty sure the scrapbook I have for my senior year of college has zero spreads, just empty pages with a stack of photos slipped in the sleeve waiting to be worked on.

What could possibly be a solution to this problem?  Why technology of course.  I was contacted by a representative at My Memories, asking me to review their digital scrapbooking software, My Memories Suite.  I'll admit at first I was a bit skeptical.  For one, scrapbooking hasn't really been my 'thing' for quite some time.  Also, I have the entire Adobe Creative Suite.  I have plenty of technology at my fingertips for organizing my photos and memories in an aesthetically pleasing way.  But I was happily surprised by the software.  Less than 20 minutes after opening the software I created this little number:

mymemoriesgiveawaypage

Ok so it is a bit short of spectacular.  But did I mention I did it in less than 20 minutes?  The software is fairly easy to navigate, and several parts of it operate quite similarly to my beloved design software.  I am a type junky, and as far as I can tell I didn't have as much control over letter or line spacing as I would personally like, BUT I think the software is excellent for creating a scrapbook on the computer.

The software comes with some cute papers and embellishments, and currently there are 93 free paper or embellishment kits listed online.  Other kits are available for purchase in the online store ranging in price from $0.99 to roughly $8.  When you start an album, you can make something completely from scratch, or you can use a fully designed page set as a template.  There seems to be nearly endless possibilities.

There are also several options for what to do when you finish an album.  You can print the pages off and put them in a scrapbook, have your album professionally printed and bound, or you can make an interactive digital album to save to a disc or even an ipod ready video.  Sounds like fun right?

Lucky for you I am giving away one copy of the My Memories Suite software.  To enter the giveaway visit the My Memories website and tell me your favorite digital paper pack.  For additional entries you can become a follower of the My Memories blog, like My Memories on facebook or like The Domestic Wannabe on facebook.  Please leave a separate comment for each entry.

The giveaway will be open until 10:00pm CST on Monday, November 14th.  A winner will be announced Tuesday, November 15th.

If you want to just go ahead and buy yourself a copy of the software, use the code STMMMS38572 at checkout to receive $10 off the My Memories Suite software and a $10 coupon to the My Memories store.

::  First off, I owe you a giveaway winner, don't I?  The winner of the owl hat from Odd Duck Creations is...

OddDuckCreationsWinner

Congrats Melissa!  If you get my your contact information, I'll pass it along to Karis.

::  My house is a DISASTER.  Seriously.  A bomb must have exploded in every room.  Every single room needs to be picked up and cleaned.  But I don't really know where to start.  So I'm just ignoring it.  Great solution to the problem right?

::  My child does deer in the headlights well, am I right?  But her pretty little eyes make it all good.  The question is color, or black and white?  (It would probably be an easier decision if I actually figured out how to process a pretty black & white...)  I've been going through photos, and going black & white usually helps hide the fact that my exposure is sometimes off, but I have this weird consistency issue, where it bothers me when some photos are in black & white, and some are in color.  I don't know why...

IMG_8829

::  I used to drink a TON of orange juice.  Then when I started trying to lose weight I only drank 4oz a day to cut back on calories.  Now I don't drink any, because I'd much rather eat my calories, and it is a struggle to get me to drink enough water as it is.  There is a good size jug of orange juice in my fridge that is going to go bad.  Anyone have any semi healthy recipes that use orange juice?  Or not so healthy ones (Chris prefers those anyway)?  I don't want to make smoothies, and that is pretty much ALL I got back from allrecipes.com, besides this recipe, which I think Ry and I are going to make after nap time.

::  Ry and I might also need to take a trip to the dollar store.  Did you see Jami's DIY cake plate?  I love it.  And I have a cake plate obsession.  What an easy way to get some more pretty ones!

::  I HATE HATE HATE coming up with Halloween costumes.  I can't wait to dress Ry up, I'm incredibly excited for that.  But I don't know what she should be.  Plus I want the three of us to coordinate for some Halloween parties.  And the costume can't rely heavily on a hat or head piece or anything, since we all know she won't wear one.  Any suggestions?

::  Saw this on pinterest the other day.  Love it.  Some people (including my husband) seriously have no idea how amazing it feels to pee without a toddler shoving a book in your face and telling you to read it.

That's all I have for now!

a day in the life - karis

Sometime in middle school we had to write a paper about what we would be doing in 10 or 15 or 20 years or something.  I remember mine said something to the affect of I would be the mother to twin girls.  Now, with just one toddler to keep track of, I simply can't imagine having two kiddos the same age, surely it would be crazy!  But Karis seems to handle it just fine.  I hope you enjoy a peek at her day, and you should probably make sure to read the whole way through, she might just have a little surprise for you!

***

Hello! My name is Karis and I have a little blog called 1+1=4 (unfortunately, because of some issues we were having, I've gone private - sorry!) I have been married for just over 3 years and 16 months ago, I became the mom to two precious little girls, Avery and Lexie.
The most recent picture I have of me and my girls was taken 4 months ago... the most recent picture of our family of four was taken when the girls were 2 weeks old... yeesh!
I get to spend my days chasing after these two little monkeys. Here's a glimpse at what a typical day looks like as a mother of twins...

7:00 - The day begins like most other days, with the sound of babies. And as I usually do, I roll over and go back to sleep. Some mornings they play with each other through the crib rails and some mornings they go back to sleep. Either way, they're happy and I enjoy a few extra minutes of sleep.
7:42 - The alarm goes off. My husband and I both roll out of bed. He gets ready for work, and I wander over to Avery and Lexie's room, where I'm greeted by squeals and big smiles. While I get Avery dressed, Lexie goes digging through the diaper pail... Awesome! I clean Lexie up, then get myself looking presentable as quickly as possible. We're a one car family, and I have a doctor's appointment this morning, so that means we have to take Daddy to work.
8:18 - We leave the house... While Daddy sets to work, the girls and I head to the kitchenette in the building to heat up some breakfast for the three of us.
8:45 - With full tummies, the three of us get into the car and drive the 15 minutes to the doctor.
9:00 - We arrive at the clinic only to find out that I wrote the time down wrong and we're an hour and a half early! It's not worth it to drive home again, so I haul the stroller out of the trunk and we set off in search of a park.
- Show quoted text -

9:12 - We find a park, and not just any old park - a splash park!! It's a beautiful morning and already pretty hot, so I decide to give it a shot. I obviously didn't come prepared for this, but since we're the only ones at the park at the moment, I figure it's okay to let them go in just their diapers. I take off their shoes and dresses and let them go free. Now that they're walking, many aspects of life have gotten much easier (I'm not constantly carrying around two 20lb babies!) but it can also be challenging to keep track of two little toddlers when they're running in different directions!
10:22 - We had a blast and all three of us are soaking wet. No change of clothes for me or towels to dry them off, so I just put them back in their dresses and wander back to the clinic.
10:30 - My doctor's appointment. Very uneventful... besides trying to answer questions while the girls try to open all the cupboard doors, empty the contents of my diaper bag, and climb all over the doctor's bed.
11:30 - Lunch time! Lexie eats half of her pb&j and then is so completely tuckered out from her morning that she falls asleep in her highchair! This has never happened before, so I laugh pretty hard (and of course take a picture!). I carry her to her room and lay her in the crib and she doesn't even wake up. I go back to the kitchen and clean Avery up and lay her down too. She's out within minutes as well.
11:35 - This is my time now. I have lots to do, but I'm struggling to find motivation. I play on Pinterest a little bit and catch up on Facebook and blogs.
12:15 - How have I wasted this much time already?! I change into my workout clothes and spend 30 minutes with Jillian Michaels (I'm alternating days of doing the C25K program and 30 Day Shred). I finish up and head to the shower to get cleaned up. Jillian sure kicks my butt!
1:00 - I hear little voices... That was a much shorter nap than usual. Oh boy, we could be in for a rough afternoon!
1:03 - Diapers are changed, we have cuddles on the rocking chair with a cup of milk and then it's time to play! The girls sit happily on their mats and read books while I wash the huge stack of dirty dishes.
1:15 -  I need to get some buns going, so I pop the ingredients into the breadmaker (what a time saver!)
1:23 - The girls come into the kitchen carrying their shoes saying "shoooos, ees!" (shoes please!) I put on their shoes and they run to the door, clearly wanting to go outside. I throw my keys, sippy cups, sunscreen and bug spray into a bag and we head outside.

1:40 - The girls are at the age where every rock is worthy of inspection and showing off, so it takes us a while to walk to get the mail. Then it's off to the park next door!

1:42 - The girls love the park. The swing, the slide, the sand and dirt... it's all good! I'm fairly certain if they could spend every waking moment outside at the park, they would be the happiest children on earth.

2:30 - As I chase after the girls, I discover there's a puppet show for the kids going on just around the corner so we sit and watch and Avery and Lexie giggle and make barking noises at the wolf puppet.

3:00 - Avery and Lexie are kind of like celebrities at the park. All the girls in the 7-12 age range that play at the park adore "the twin babies" and come running to play with us. They pepper me with questions that I never quite know how to answer, "Why does one have red hair and one have yellow hair?","One has a different colored dress?","Why is she putting sand in my hand?"
3:40 - The sky is looking ominous and I realize that my bun dough is probably ready back home so I brush as much sand off the girls as I can and tell them to say "bye-bye" to their friends. My little monkeys aren't too thrilled about leaving the park, refuse to walk and I end up having to carry them home, one in each arm.
4:00 - Buns are shaped and rising and I play with the girls. We read "Oh my, oh my, oh dinosaurs" through 4 times before they decide it's time for a new book.
4:21 - This is always the time of day when they start to get hungry and cranky. I need to get supper ready to go, but Avery and Lexie need attention so it's a little crazy. I give them pots and spoons to play with and cheerios to snack on.
4:50 - I pack up the girls to go pick Daddy up from work. I sing them songs to keep them happy as we drive. They fall asleep in their car seats in the last 5 minutes of the drive.
- Hide quoted text -

5:15 - We're home again, I quickly get supper heated up and we eat together as a family.
6:00 - Once Avery and Lexie are cleaned up, they play with Daddy while I do the dishes and put away the left overs. Apparently they just needed him because now they're happy and giggling! Makes my heart happy to hear the three of them play.
6:30 - I take the girls to their room and change them into jammies. Then we all sit on the couch together and cuddle and they drink a cup of milk.
7:00 - We brush their teeth, read a story, and then it's bedtime!
7:02 - They must have been exhausted because they're both asleep already!
7:03- We relax on the couch, watch TV and I finally get a chance to work on some orders. I have a small business making handmade items, Odd Duck Creations, and I have a a stack of orders that are half finished so I set to work!
7:54 - Break time! I need a snack...
8:10 - I continue to work on my Odd Duck orders and we watch old Office reruns.
9:30 - I run out of yarn on the last step of the order. I could go looking for more in my huge basket but decide instead that it's just bedtime. The hat will get finished tomorrow.
10:00 - I play some Scrabble moves in my iPhone, make a few comments on Facebook, and then it's time for bed! Another busy day keeping up with my girls tomorrow and I need my rest!

What is the most surprising thing about being a mom?
How very different it is when it's your own children! I worked in a daycare until my babies came and I really did love some of the kids. But nothing on earth can compare to being a mom and playing with your own children and seeing them grow and learn new skills. I've never been more proud of anything in my life. Every new accomplishment is huge and makes me swell with pride that these are my children!
What is some advice you’d give to new or soon-to-be moms?
I think every one says this, but it's so true: do what works for you! I read so many parenting books while I was pregnant, but when my babies were born they had their own personalities and strategies I had read about didn't necessarily work for them or us as parents. If it makes you uncomfortable and isn't working for your family, try something else! No book can tell you how to raise your family the "right" way!
What are your top three baby products?
  1. A bouncy/vibrating chair. We had two very basic ones and they were a life saver for the first few months. When I was up nursing one baby in the middle of the night, I could put the other one in her bouncy chair and it would keep her content until I was ready to feed her.
  2. A baby sling. Again, a life saver. My girls spent many, many hours "helping" me around the house while in a sling.
  3. Muffins. Ok, not a "baby product". But I am convinced these are God's gift to new moms. I literally lived off muffins for the first 5 months. I would make enormous batches of some kind of healthy muffin (think flax and bran and pumpkin) and eat them whenever I got hungry. So easy to grab and eat in the midst of baby craziness! These are always included in my gifts to new moms.

Thank you for sharing your day with us Karis!

      this and that {and the giveaway winner!}

::  Sorry.  I know I said I'd have a winner for you this morning.  I didn't get it done.  Whoops, sorry.  But without further aiedu, the winner of the SallyLovesWyatt giveaway is...

      SallyLovesWyattWinner
Congrats Amy!  Leave me your e-mail and I will get you all squared away!

::  Yesterday and today I have had a sore throat.  Not the swollen feels kind of like a sore muscle one, but just incredibly scratchy.  What gives?  It is driving me nuts.  On top of that, I pretty much feel like I've been hit by a bus.  My arms are still sore from Monday's workout.  My legs are sore from Wednesday's workout, and since they were sore I ran faster than I wanted to through 3 miles yesterday just to get it over with.  And I've been staying up so that I can see Chris when he gets home, and then waking up when he leaves (because we all know I'm a morning insomniac).  I'm just feeling incredibly drained.  So I should be taking a nap instead of blogging, but I can't.  I don't know why.

::  I got an e-mail just a bit ago informing me of the orientation for Ry's mother's day out program, and that the first day of 'class' is August 25th.  And then I had a mini panic attack.  Am I doing the right thing?  She is only 16 months old.  She is too little to go to 'school'.  What if she is miserable?  What if she gets hurt?  Yadda yadda yadda... I know it is only one day a week.  It is only 7 hours out of the day (no one near our home offered just a morning program that I know of).  Hopefully part of which she is napping.  She is doing GREAT in the gym daycare (the other day they asked if they could keep her because she was so much fun :o).

It will be good for me to have a day that I can focus on my stuff.  Have time to schedule invitation consultations, actually get work done, vacuum without her crying because she is scared of the stupid thing.  I think it is great for her to socialize with other kiddos, and to step out of the comfort zone of our home a bit.  But I'm still freaking out.  I know that if in a couple months one of us isn't digging it, I can just pull her.  But AHHHHHHH!  My baby!  Whew.

::  Nutella calls to me from pinterest everyday.  Seriously...  Wish I had a party to plan, or something or someone to bake these for, so that I could try one!

sally loves wyatt - a giveaway

      **GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED**

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I thought I'd brighten your day just a tad with a little giveaway.  Nicole of Sally Loves Wyatt has graciously offered a 5x7 print from her shop to one of my lucky readers.

Here is what Nicole has to say about the prints in her shop:

Every item for sale on SallyLovesWyatt was imagined and created in a little blue house in Austin, Texas.  Each piece starts out as a sketch that is transformed into a handmade work of art. I love working with thick, colorful paper, especially papers that have fun and interesting textures or patterns. The sketches are brought to life with the vibrant colors of the cardstock, and get an extra splash of cheer from my tin full of Prisma Color pencils. Whenever I make a new piece I feel like I am bringing a new character to life, with a personality of its very own.

They truly are fun little prints, with just the right amount of whimsy.  My personal favorite is the anchor print.  I think it is so sweet.

So what can you do to get your hands on one of these adorable little prints?  Well there are several options of course.  Mandatory for the entry in the giveaway, is to head on over to Nicole's etsy shop and tell me which print you would choose if you are the lucky chosen one.  You can receive additional entries for the following (leave a separate comment for each item):

share your love for the anderson family

You know each week I participate in the embrace the camera challenge over at Emily's blog.  What you may not know, is that they are in the process of adopting a little girl from Ethiopia.  Emily has such a big heart, and I am so happy she is doing this.  But as many of you probably know, adopting a child isn't cheap, especially when you have to fly back and forth to Africa, twice.

So this week Emily is hosting 'share the love' week.  Many many fabulous etsy shops have donated items to create some amazing bundles for Emily to giveaway.  All you have to do to enter is make a $10 donation.  Seriously, $10 could win you over $300 worth of stuff, AND you will be helping bring a little girl home to her family.

Hope on over to Emily's blog and share the love!

p.s.  don't forget about the headband giveaway!

      about those headbands... a giveaway!

Update  ::  This giveaway is closed!  ::

So many of you have asked about where my headbands that Ryann wears come from.  I have a variety from different places, but my go to headbands are from etsy seller lisigirl.  The headbands from her shop, CocoLicious, NEVER dent Ryann's head.  They are also very affordable, and have the loop so you can add clips.

The best part?  Lisigirl (or Meredith if you will :o) is offering one lucky reader a 6x6 grab bag!  That is six soft satin elastic headbands, and six flower clips.  You get to pick the headband colors and she will match the flowers to them.  What a great way to start your headband collection!

So how can you get your hands on this giveaway prize?  There are four ways:
      1.  Leave a comment telling me who you want to win the headbands for.
      2.  Become a follower of the blog, and let me know that you did.
      3.  Like the domestic wannabe on facebook.
      4.  Blog about this giveaway and leave a link in the comment section.
Make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry!

Make sure to either leave your e-mail in your comment, or that it is attached to your profile so that I can contact you if you win.  The giveaway will be open until 9:00pm CST Thursday night (October 14th) and the winner will be announced Friday morning!
