cookie baking tradition

Hello?  Anyone there?

I have succumbed to the pull of the couch and mindless TV in my downtime a little too often over the last few weeks.  Multiple children + the holidays + life = exhausting.  I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling it.  But the holiday season has been fun and full of activity, and lots and lots of cookies.  I don't bake near as much as I used to, but for some reason I used Christmas as a good excuse to bake all the things.  And then eat them all too.  But that is beside the point.

This is the third year we've gone to my parents house so Ry and I could bake cookies with my mama.  Technically Elsie was there as well, wearing an apron (all of ours are from Hobby Lobby) and everything, but she didn't really partake in the event too much.  Other than to look cute.  She's good at that.

In all honesty the cookie baking stresses me out just a teeny bit.  Because I'm a little too Type A and Ryann is three and could care less about how you're supposed to do it and just wants to eat all of the dough and the sprinkles.  But we still had fun.  Ry took her sprinkle job pretty seriously, and made sure to cover every single cookie in a pretty solid layer of them.  Oh well.  They tasted good!

I'm sure next year will be even more fun, and crazy, with Elsie in on the action.

You are awesome for doing stuff like this with Ryann. My little guy and I aren't doing nearly enough crafty creative stuff together!
