week in iphone pics

Of course I'm already a week behind in this.  But hey.  Who cares, right?  I can guarantee you it is going to get worse.  These pictures are from January 20th-26th.

phonepics_jan20_jan26

in her own words, her flirty face.  and the face that solidifies she will never date, ever.  painting a masterpiece.  cute little baby things.  all her 'buddies'.  the most in your face cat I've ever met.  polka dots and awkward smiles on a fro-yo date.  the ladybug game for the bajillionth time.  longest lunch ever.  crazy kid.  honestly, who knows.  cereal like daddy.  36 weeks.  post gymnastics cutie.  morning reading with daddy.  me and my girl.  and again.  and again.  post nap grogginess.  my favorite two.  more silliness with me and my girl.  friends.  sophie.  crafting.

The chances of me getting this weeks' photos up before next Sunday?  Slim.  Very very slim.

week in iphone pics

When I got really in to instagram, and got kind of lazy (and pregnant) I stopped posting my phone pictures to the blog.  I feel silly posting them, because I know several of you have already seen them on instagram.  But at the same time, I decided I liked the little weekly recap being posted here.  You know, for memory's sake if I ever get around to getting blog books printed.  So I'm going to try and make myself put together a post weekly.  Which leads me to our week...

iphonepics_weekofJan13_2013

Ryann and I are quite the combo sometimes.  I was freezing, she was pantless.  Figures.  Snuggle and story time with daddy.  A beautiful sunset over my happy place.  Second day flat iron curls.  Freshly cleaned and organized bathroom shelves (nesting!).  Snoogle thief #1.  Snoogle thief #2.  Always coloring.  Creepy cat.  thirty-five weeks.  Post long nap grogginess.  Fun at Monkey Bizness.  Fro-yo date with the bestie.  My husband is awesome.  Beautiful weather = a bike ride and a park trip.

And something I wanted to note about this week... Thursday was a really tough day on the parenting front.  We were late getting out the door, Ryann was being a punk, the usual.  After the gym we packed up and headed to gymnastics, which had gone exceptionally well the previous two weeks.  This week?  Not so much.  Ryann was not listening to her teacher, AT ALL.  And climbing on top of things that probably weren't safe for her to be climbing on and such.  She got sent out of class once and was told to come back when she was ready to listen.  We had a little talk.  She went back in.  And still didn't listen.  So I went in, pulled her out of class, and dragged her out of the building screaming and crying.

It was so hard, but I know it wasn't fair to the other teachers or kids to have her in there distracting them (for the record, she wasn't the only kid who had to leave class that day.  one of those days I guess).  Her sobs were heartbreaking, I was trying not to cry along with her as she pleaded with me, "I promise I'll listen.  Please mommy.  PLEASE MOMMY.  Please don't take me home.  I love gymnastics.  I'll listen.  I will.  PLEASE!"  She was pretty upset until naptime.  I hated making her cry, but I know at some point I have to enforce some consequences.  Yes she is only two (well almost three), but she has the capacity to listen to directions and follow rules.

I'm hoping next week goes better.  Because when she pays attention and really tries, she is great at the little skills.  And she loves it.  Yes, I think they are expecting a bit much out of some toddlers as far as the ability to concentrate, and part of me wants to check out another place to see how they structure their toddler class.  But still...  Tough stuff.

week in iphone pics

This week was another pretty darn good one.  I kicked it off with a 4.75 mile run outside, and then Ryann and I spent several days at my parents, enjoying good food and good company.  The only downside was that someone though 4:45am was wake up time on more than a couple occasions.  Not okay kiddo, not okay.  But we pulled through.

iphonepics_08_13_12_wholeweek

morning run.  park time.  headed to grammy's.  early morning concert.  dragon riding.  'tight rope' walking.  snack time picnic.  bug hunting.  cheery morning.  mall horsey love.  playing dress-up.  my mini me.  13 week bloat baby.  riding a camel.  and an elephant.  tam tam's cooking.  pre 5k.  post 5k.  kid's run.  her medal (or pixie dust).  my little champion.

For the record, I 100% forced her to dress-up in my costume.  Like my dad held her (while she was laughing and giggling and trying to get away to go cause some trouble) while I dressed her.  She is by no means a girly girl.  She has no interest in dress up and tea parties and girly things.  She would much rather jump and climb and run and get into mischief.  My little tomboy.  I don't know why I'm surprised, I was too.

week in iphone pics

I was a little better about taking photos during this week.  It was a pretty stellar week.  Both of my besties moved back to Kansas City.  My mom hung out with us twice.  I got to run outside, AND have brunch with some of my favorite ladies.  It definitely went down as a win in my book.

August 6 - August 12 2012
iphonepics_Aug6_Aug12

silly girl.  my wifey.  awkward lunch face.  sleepy girl.  rockin' the shades.  hangin' with effy.  the arboretum.  pretty flowers.  early riser.  baby?  attack of lobster girl.  books on the potty (just because she wanted to).  brunch with some lovely ladies.  and some more lovely ladies.  out.

August 6, 2012

week in iphone pics

This one is a couple weeks worth, and yes, I'm back dating some posts.  I want the photos in here because this is a blog for my family, but I figure no one needs three posts in a row of a million phone pictures.  I got sick of taking pictures on my phone for a while, so there aren't a ton from the last month, but that is just fine.  I think our life is still well documented :o).

July 22 - August 5 2012
iphonepics_July22_August5

no nap crazy child.  fro yo date.  zero entry love.  snack at the gym.  new hiding spot.  post bath happiness.  sock mittens.  creating a masterpiece.  the museum with the boys.  doc mcRyann.  book lover.  yogurt thief.  happy girl.  big drink, little lady.  snack in a box.  overwhelmed.  spent.  banana cake.  pipe cleaner fun.  beautiful morning.  cake with daddy.

July 23, 2012

week in iphone pics

Weeks, actually.  I didn't realized I missed one, but I suppose that isn't surprising since the blog has been sort of at the bottom of the totem pole lately.  Oh well.

July 8th - July 14th
iphonepics_07_08_12_wholeweek

enjoying the 90 degree weather (gag).  loving the swings.  sticker attack.  good morning.  long time no see, chalk.  blueberries!  happy little picker.  time to go.  goobers.  goobers part two.  stepping stone love.  snack time at the gym.  fort loving girl.  what happens when you shop with daddy.  my attention whore of a cat.

July 15th - July 21st
iphonepics_07_15_12_wholeweek

outfit of choice.  little owl craft.  doc mcRyann.  shopping entertainment.  looking like a pro.  FRENCH BRAIDS.  my favorite workout top.  coloring.  bath time cutie.  jewelry like grandma 'nita.  splash park.  catching the water.  lunch time.  stencils.  silly princess.  little miss preppy.  ryann and daddy.  goofy kisses.

Despite all the triple digit heat lately, we are still managing to have some fun.  But I'd be lying if I said I was enjoying it.  I'm dreaming of 60 degree fall days and hours at the park in a light jacket.  I thought I loved summer, but, well, this kind of blows.  Thankfully Ry loves to color, because we do a LOT of it lately.  But she is getting stir crazy, and I'm getting stir crazy and tired of thinking of ways to entertain ourselves indoors.  Relief is coming soon, right?  Right...

week in iphone pics

While putting these together I realized I didn't take a SINGLE picture on my phone on the 4th of July.  I barely took any pictures that day.  Blogger/mommy fail.  Oh well.  Picture swimming and food.  That is pretty much what happened.  We were at my parents, and didn't think we could  make it through the fireworks (all three of us were pretty tired) so we opted to get in the car around 8:30pm and head home.  Ryann played Monkey Preschool Lunchbox the ENTIRE way home.  No joke, she loves that game.  Definitely her favorite right now.  The funniest part of the drive home, we were trying to point out random fireworks to her, but she was having a hard time seeing them.  At one point she said, "Um, I'm just going to go back to playing my game," in this sort of sad matter of fact voice.  It was hilarious.  We pulled into KC at just the right time to see at least three fireworks shows from the highway, and Ryann did get to see those.  She was so cute, saying "Bang!  Bang!  Colorful!  Look at all the colors!"

Anyway... phone pics...

iphonepics_07_01_12_wholeweek

watching the water.  eyelashes.  twinkies.  swimming with my bestie.  baking with grammy.  making a mess for grammy :o).  the best part.  piano with papa.  my girl.  goofy faces.  dinner is not a time for shirts, apparently.  daddy builds the best forts.  hand holding for comfort.  bobcat yard art.  tree hugger.  my hot date.  and our adorable third wheel.  pretty girl.

July 6, 2012

week in iphone pics + a video

I'm aware I'm totally failing at blogging these last few weeks.  But I'm over it.  And I figure anyone who is really upset about it can just move on anyway, right?  If you love me you'll stick around :o).  Here are my iphone pictures from last week...

iphonepics_06_24_12_wholeweek

lazy morning.  plasma cars.  mini sun goddess.  making dinner complicated.  going bonkers.  worn out.  blanket overload.  "take a wake up picture."  world's most annoying and attention starved cat.  sad about the mess.  hiding from bath time.  first trip to Tad's.

And as promised, the 'Grand Old Flag' video.

Pretty cute, right?  :o)

June 25, 2012

week in iphone pics

Bear with me (or is it bare in this instance?  I have no idea right now, just deal with it).  I think I'm just going to toss up four posts today.  You know because that is how blogging is supposed to go right?  You don't post for a few days, and then you stick up four posts worth of pretty much just pictures of your kid and everyone is happy, right?  Right.  Anyway, last weeks iphone pictures, broken up in to two parts.

iphonepics_06_17_12_SunthruWed

father's day.  socks.  testing out headphones.  headphones = happy airplane ride for EVERYONE.  pout pout fish.  playing chicken with the waves.  me and my girl.  photo bombing husband.  my mama and i.  the hubs.  me and my girl, again.  morning family walk.  beach exploring.  chillaxin'.  my little princess in pink.

iphonepics_06_17_12_ThursthruSat

more beach time.  testing the waves.  ICE CREAM.  the beach.  taking on the waves.  i am the luckiest.  running to moo cow.  humidity curls.  blue ice cream tongue.  view for the morning walk.  watching planes.  owlie.  wings.  my little traveler.  exhausted.

And yes, my child has a million swimsuits.  I can't help myself.  I mean, I can't help myself with her cute little clothes, and then throw adorable freaking little swimsuits into the mix?  Especially when you get them on sale...  For the record, she has a mix of 2T and 3T.  The 2Ts are fine right now, but I'm pretty sure they won't fit by the end of August, and definitely not in the fall if we happen to go to Georgia again while it is still warm enough.  The 3Ts are a little big, but not always noticeably so, therefore she has an abundance of suits she can wear right now.  But I didn't want to wait to grab any 3Ts just in case I really needed them and couldn't find any I liked.  Silly, sure, but whatever.

week in iphone pics

Oh you know.  Just dumping some more iphone photos your way.  I've got two weeks to catch up on.  Thankfully I didn't take too many pictures, so a short and sweet recap will do.  These photos are from June 10th-16th.

iphonepics_june10thru16_2012

drumsticks are the best.  yellow shoes.  mondays.  cheeseface.  cloud dough.  drawing smiles.  kitty kisses.  story reader demands.  goofy mirror time.  petting fake doggies.  goodbye tissue poms.  cute girl.  crazy faces.  giant waffle.

June 10, 2012

week in iphone pics

Wow.  Life really isn't slowing down any time soon.  I haven't been on the computer since Wednesday.  WEDNESDAY!  People.  That is THREE WHOLE DAYS not really accessing the internet.  I think that is some sort of record for me.  I did get on my phone here and there, so I didn't make it without technology (of course), but still.

So I'm throwing up a whole bunch of instagram pics, because I'm of course behind on those again.  These are from May 27th - June 2nd.  Keeping it short and sweet and overloaded with pics...

weekiniphonepics_05_27_12_wholeweek

iphone = happiness.  sun worshiper.  tall slide.  belly swinging.  fun with the boys.  peaceful shopping.  train riding.  road trip.  cutest photographer in training ever.  designated button pusher.  old photos.  tired.  whee!  adele.  laundry basket baking.  cloud dough.  MESSY cloud dough.  rockstars.  donut making.  nutella glaze.  10k finishers.  sleepy babe.  kitchen rug snacktime.  my little champion.

And another giant collage of photos... these from last week, June 3rd - 9th.

iphonepics_06_03_12_wholeweek

morning person.  acting like a baby.  just because.  barbell strength.  emotional.  cheese.  sprinkler fun.  sassy snack time.  self portrait.  carousel.  elevator ride.  new hair do.  post nap snack.  sibling love.  a day at the farm.  my little butterfly.  helping.  a fabulous combo.  happy face?  captivating read.  scribbles.  picnic time.  pool baby.  sunning with my girls.  boating with papa.  the boat broke :o(.  five and a half hours.  just like old times.  she watched me dance.  unplanned coordination.  girlfriends.  sucker stealer.  performance time.

It was a fun filled crazy week.  If we weren't out doing something I was reading.  Two books in three days, not too shabby.

week in iphone pics

So this phone pic recap is a few days later than I was planning, but if I can get the next one up on time I will be completely caught up.  Woot!  Now if I could just get caught up on laundry/cleaning/grocery shopping/etc...

sunday
iphonepics_05_20_12_Sunday

After making it back from a crazy night in Lawrence, we started the day off right with a boat ride.  It was a bit windy, but that just meant after a little bit of fun with Papa my girl snuggled up with me.  While Ryann napped I did a little snoozing of my own... by the pool of course.  After nap Ryann spent more time hanging out with Papa.  She is pretty much attached to him at all times if possible.  Thanks for putting up with it Daddy :o).

monday
iphonepics_5_20_12_Monday

Daddy was still snoozing post call, so we had our afternoon snack on the porch.  Then Ryann dominated her 24 piece jigsaw puzzle.  Puzzles are her absolute favorite thing right now (well, except for playing on the iPad and eating sweets, but those aren't always readily available :o).  We made a trip to the grocery store and Ryann got awkwardly excited about pickles.  On the way home she rocked out to Rumour has it.  Her current favorite song of course.

tuesday
iphonepics_05_20_12_Tuesday

Check it out.  First attempt at braids.  It was TOUGH!  There isn't quite enough hair for me to actually want to attempt them again anytime soon.  But they were cute.  And she loved them when we checked them out in the mirror.  After nap we walked to the park, and sent silly smiles to Daddy while he was working.

wednesday
iphonepics_05_20_12_Wednesday

Last week Shawna shared 'yellow'.  I showed it to Ryann.  We now watch it a minimum of three times a day.  Oh and that up there in the middle?  Her arabesque :o).  Too cute.  We had a little playdate with my friend Abbey and her baby girl Harper.  Ryann's curls were out of control after nap.  Oh, and she found the sucker in a drawer in our house and begged me to let her have it.  She asked so nicely that I couldn't say no.  But she was absolutely traumatized when she dropped it in the dirt and I took it away.  Seriously, epic meltdown.  Girl loves her sweets.

thursday
iphonepics_05_20_12_Thursday

Oh that?  That is just what I look like when a curly headed monster wakes me up before 5:30am multiple days in a row.  No cool little friend, not cool.  We went for a walk and stopped at the park.  Ryann can never get enough of the slides.  At naptime Ryann tried to protest by yelling at my through the monitor.  I stood strong, she took a nap :o).  After her little siesta she cooked me up some b for d and we waited for daddy on the front porch.

friday
iphonepics_05_20_12_Friday

Friday morning we had to make some cookies for my friend's wedding (milk and cookies bar = awesomeness).  The first picture shows the dangers of baking with a toddler.  After nap we opted for a little bit of water table play.  Ryann wasted no time emptying the water from the table onto the patio.  But she had a TON of fun doing it.

saturday
iphonepics_05_20_12_Saturday

If you aren't already aware, I have a ton of hair.  And I'm not real efficient with the curling iron.  So it takes me FOREVER to get it done.  But I wanted to get all prettied up for my friend's wedding.  It was worth it, I think the hubs and I cleaned up rather well (and yes, he wore a shirt to match my dress on purpose.  He just happened to have one that went perfectly!).  It was fun spending the evening, and having milk and cookies :o), with friends.  Big congrats to the newlyweds!

May 23, 2012

week in iphone pics

I thought I was three weeks behind with my phone pics, but apparently it was only two.  Which is awesome.  So hooray!  Caught up on those.  And I am *this* close to having all of my current design projects done.  Doesn't mean the to-do list is getting any shorter, but at least I won't feel guilty about using my time to blog.  Or finish my elevated envelopes that were supposed to be mailed out May 1st.  Or re-design my besties blog.  Which I was going to do like two months ago...

Moving on!
sunday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Sunday

I started my mother's day off right, setting a new 5k PR.  Threw on some clothes (well, and curled my hair) and headed to Lawrence to watch my baby sister graduate.  It was an exhausting morning for Ryann.  She did good, but she crashed hard by the time we got back in the car.  That evening we headed over to Chris's aunt and uncle's house for some burgers.  Ryann LOVED the tree swing of course.

monday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Monday

Meh.  Our attempt at a morning smile for Daddy :o).  We had a play date with JT.  It took Ryann about .5 seconds to find the water table in their backyard and get all nice and wet.  We were on our own that night, so I had to take over bath duties.  I hate doing bathtime, but at least my kid is cute.

tuesday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Tuesday

Tuesday morning I struggled hardcore to get us up and moving.  We may have watched an hour of Disney Junior before I decided enough was enough and we were going to the gym.  That afternoon while we were having snack on the front porch, Ryann looked up at me and said "Mama I'm going to go touch da tree."  And she did.  And came back and finished her snack.  Silly girl.  Also silly is her fish face, and rolling around on the chalk and dirt covered driveway.

wednesday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Wednesday

Umm, I can't remember exactly what we did on Wednesday.  I think Grammy came to play.  All I had on my phone were these gems.  Particularly that one on the far right.  It's a keeper.

thursday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Thursday

Sadly this was the only picture on my phone from Thursday.  I say sadly because it was actually a great day.  It was Ry's last day of MDO for the year, and she looked super cute.  I picked up my friend from the airport, and more friends joined us for dinner.  Ryann became obsessed with my friend's boyfriend, and it was awesome.  But all I've got is her PASSED OUT when I came to get her from MDO.  I tried to wake her.  It didn't really work.  It was the first time she almost stayed asleep when I picked her up since she was a newborn.

friday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Friday

While the hospital held my husband hostage for the weekend, Ryann and I headed to Grammy's house.  Top left is one of her Eater basket presents.  Apparently it looks way more awesome if you are as close to it as possible.  After nap we went to the mall in search of dresses for me to wear to some weddings.  Ryann got to ride the pony, but the best part of that picture is the little girl creeping.  I have no idea who she is.  That evening we did a little swimming.  Thankfully Ryann seems to love the pool a little more than last year.  Now I just have to actually teach her to swim...

saturday
iphonepics_05_13_12_Saturday

Saturday was quite the day.  I left Ryann with my parents and headed to Lawrence.  There was a baby shower for one of my pledge sisters in the early afternoon, and another pledge sister got married that evening.  It was 12+ hours of acting like I was in college again (minus the fact that we were celebrating babies and marriages, but hey).  I was definitely feeling my decisions the next day, but ultimately it was a day that was good for my soul.  It was so nice to see a good chunk of my pledge sisters.  We had a blast together.

Now if I could just get up to date on my project 366 photos...

May 22, 2012

week in iphone pics

And when I saw week, I definitely don't mean last week.  I mean like three weeks ago.  The to-do list is semi long right now, and when I'm not working I haven't had a real desire to sit in front of the computer and edit photos/write posts.  I'm crossing my fingers that it all slows down a bit after this coming weekend, but I don't think it will.  Which is unfortunate, because I have a lot on my mind.

Anyway, here are some iphone photos from the week we were in Georgia (May 6th - May 12th).  Going through them all made me want to go back right now.  Especially since my mom is currently there with my sister (jealous.  definitely).  But thankfully we do have a trip planned for next month.  Hooray!  Oh and I apologize for the photo overload in advance.  Apparently beach = a million photos.

sunday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Sunday

Ryann acted like a princess or something, and demanded that papa juggle for her.  Thankfully she's cute.  We spent the morning at the beach and Ryann and Papa tried to dig a whole to China or something.  And seriously one of the cutest things, Ryann dancing to Papa's guitar playing.  The next picture is Ry sporting some dress-up heels courtesy of my mom's friend Patty.  Coloring outside, a nice dinner, more coloring outside with Grammy, and a kid that seemed like she'd never go to bed.

monday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Monday

My mom had to drop Papa off at the airport for a 7am flight.  When she got back we went on a walk and stopped at a cafe for some breakfast.  Not a bad way to start the morning.  We spent the next hour playing at the park and checking out the pier.  After nap we made our way to the beach.  It was pretty overcast with storms creeping up all around, but Ryann didn't mind.  Oh and of course I think her favorite part of going to the beach is getting sprayed off when the house when we come home.  Why oh why she likes getting blasted by ice cold water I'll never know.

tuesday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Tuesday

Ryann hopped in the shower with me, and then refused to get out.  Which I've discovered is the best way to give myself a chance to get ready.  We spent the morning doing a little shopping, and Ryann of course came away with quite the haul from Old Navy.  Side note, I showed her the cowboy hat, her response, "I don't want a BOY hat!"  Ok my love, cowgirl hat.  Sorry!  The afternoon was spent, of course, at the beach.  The big floppy hat didn't stay put as well as I hoped, but the cuteness was worth it.  The tide had been so high the night before so we found all sorts of things on the beach, including a tire.  Ryann spent an absurd amount of time running through the puddle around the tire.  Post dinner we made another trip to the ice cream shop.  Mmmm peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream.  And I had a hard time washing the wee one's hair that night, simply because her curls in Georgia are too cute.

wednesday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Wednesday

Apparently I calmed down a bit with the picture taking on Thursday :o).  We spent the morning at the beach, and Ryann continued to kill me with her cuteness.  My child is obviously better dressed than me on the regular, and looked like quite the vacation goddess.  Oh and Ryann was incredibly confused by the guy sunbathing on the beach.  I swear she must have thought he was dead or something.

thursday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Thursday

Time to head home, which was of course bittersweet.  Yeah for seeing daddy, boo on leaving the beach.  We had to leave by 6:45am, and I pretty much grabbed Ryann out of bed and through clothes on her before strapping her into the car.  She was a wee bit out of it.  Thank goodness for the play area in the Nashville airport.  Ryann 100% wore herself out climbing on everything, and slept the entire way from Nashville to Kansas City.  She was definitely happy to be home that afternoon.

friday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Friday

Chris had to  work Thursday night, so we finally got to see him on Friday.  Reunited and it felt so good :o).  Ryann's Great Grandma stopped by with a little gift, and that little gift ended up plastered all over my arm.  And just a cute picture of my little grocery shopper.

saturday
iphonepics_05_06_12_Saturday

Ryann and I went to the gym Saturday morning and texted Chris before heading home.  That was his response... Lets just say it isn't normal for a tank to be driving around by our house.  We had to wake Ryann up from nap to head to my sister's graduation party, and she pretty much looked like that the entire drive.  The very last picture is probably one of my favorites of our little family.  I think it definitely captures our true personalities.  And my favorite part of it might be Ryann's little foot poking up behind the seat.  Not sure why :o).

Whew!  Ok.  One week down, two to go.  I'm hoping to catch up on my iphone pictures this week, and maybe next week I'll tackle all my project 366 photos (sort of dreading it, and not loving the project anymore :o(.  Then MAYBE I'll actual draft a meaningful post.  Maybe :o).

May 7, 2012

week in iphone pics

Prepare for a photo overload.  I could edit some down, but lets face it.  These posts are more for me and my family than anyone else, so I'll keep them all in.

sunday
iphonepics_04_29_12_Sunday

Yipee yahoo!  It's my birthday (anyone's toddler play Peek A Zoo?  Sound familiar?)!  After the Trolley Run I met up with Christopher and Ryann for some breakfast.  I was beat!  But not too tired to scarf down some french toast, eggs and bacon of course.  Ryann did her thing, looking cute and being a punk about taking pictures.  That night my lovely mother-in-law came up to watch Ryann so Chris could take me out for a birthday dinner.  Being the cool kid that I am, I wore compression socks under my jeans (they felt so good, couldn't take them off!).  Mmmm Prickly Pear margarita...

monday
iphonepics_04_29_12_Monday

Christopher had the day off work so we went to the aquarium in the morning.  Standing in line is obviously thrilling.  After nap we wasted time playing in the bed, and went to Toys R Us for a new puzzle.  Although I think Ryann would have been happy to come home with some sort of motorized vehicle as well.  Someday... and just some pre-bed snuggles for my lady.

tuesday
iphonepics_04_29_12_Tuesday

Less than 24 hours after giving her a jigsaw puzzle, Ryann had the thing mastered.  Go figure.  She claps for herself every time she gets another piece.  Too cute.  We spent the afternoon playing outside.  When we finally came back in Ryann combined her two current favorite things, her ball pit and the puzzle.  Pretty clever if you ask me.

wednesday
iphonepics_04_29_12_Wednesday

Obviously a trip to Target was necessary.  I'm not sure there has been a week that we didn't go to Target at least once.  I considered a floppy beach hat, but Ryann looked better in it than I did, so I passed.  I got some cute little clips in the mail that I ordered from Princess and the King on Etsy (seller Sarah Olsen Designs).  They seem well made and the seller was excellent to work with.  After nap Ryann and I made some muffins for Christopher to have while we were out of town.  No worries, recipe to come later this week.

thursday
iphonepics_04_29_12_Thursday

Travel day!  Christopher was scheduled for a long string of crappy hours, so Ryann and I hightailed it to Georgia with my mom.  In the picture of her with the iPad, please take note of her left finger.  I think it was always prepped and ready just in case righty got tired of doing all the work or something.

Running in Georgia in the late spring/summer kind of blows thanks to the heat and humidity, but the views definitely try to make up for it.  When I got back from my run, Ryann was coloring like a champ.  She can stay in the lines better than me sometimes.  We spent the rest of the morning at the beach.  The beach definitely = Ryann's happy place.  For the most part anyway.  Oh and the humidity may suck for running, but ohemgee what it does to Ryann's curls is amazing.  I can't get enough of them.  After some fun outside time we went to the Moo Cow Creamery for ice cream.  I have never seen Ryann shovel something into her mouth so fast.  She was in heaven.

We had to pick Papa up from the airport.  There was a fountain... I told Ryann not to touch the water.  Probably one of the hardest thing she has ever had to do :o).  After nap we spent more time at the beach and just hung around the house for the evening.  Ok actually we went out for ice cream again, there just wasn't any photographic evidence this time.  I've been a little sad they haven't had my favorite flavor, chocolate covered potato chip.  But I've settled for chocolate peanut butter cup and banana pudding.  Not too shabby.

week in iphone pics

Happy Sunday to all of you, and Happy Birthday to me!  Yep, today is my birthday.  Although birthdays don't really seem all that exciting right now.  Yahoo, I'm 26.  Go me.  But people are making me feel special all the same so I'll take it :o).

Anyway, a recap of last week via my iphone...

sunday
iphonepic_04_22_12_Sunday

Sunday Chris and I drove to my parents to pick up the wee one.  I'm happy to report that everyone survived Ryann's first night away from me.  I think she missed us, and Grammy and Papa were exhausted, but we survived :o).  We were going to let Ryann nap there, and then drive home, but she just wasn't falling asleep.  So we hopped in the car thinking she would crash.  No dice.  She was a spaz in the back for the majority of the trip.  I tried to blog anyway while we drove.  Of course shortly before we made it to town it got rather quiet in the backseat.  I turned around to see some mean looking sleepy eyes.  Sure enough, she passed out about 15 minutes from our house.  We decided to go with it, and ran a couple errands to let her nap a bit.

monday
iphonepics_04_22_12_Monday

Started the day and week off right with a barbell strength class (I believe also known as body pump and many other gyms).  Always a good workout!  For some reason Ryann was a mess the rest of the morning, incredibly clingy and whiny.  "Just hold me mama."  So I obliged.  She took a three hour nap (I woke her at 4, I don't care if you aren't supposed to wake a sleeping kid, I just don't let her nap past 4).  It must have been a good nap, check out that bed head!  Later the hubs and Ry were being goobers while he was outside grilling.

tuesday

After the gym we met up with some friends at the children's farm in town.  Ryann was enjoying watching the geese run around.  However all she talked about for the rest of the day was how we saw a peacock but it didn't open its feathers.  I think she was pissed about that :o).  Apparently all the walking around the farm wore her out, because I had to wake her from another 3 hour nap.  We spent the afternoon coloring away.  Her crossed little footies and cute ponytail were making my heart swell.

wednesday

The sass monster was in full force during breakfast.  Grammy came to play with us, and we decided to go on a long walk.  It was wonderful, and Ryann did great with some shade and her mini magnadoodle.  Chris got to come home at a decent hour so he played outside with Ryann while I did some baking (veggie muffins and coconut krispie chocolate chunk cookies).  Seriously, how cute are the two of them sitting together?  Swoon.

thursday
iphonepics_04_22_12_Thursday

Apparently the last two weeks at MDO Ryann hasn't napped.  Instead she has sang for nearly the entire 90+ minutes the kiddos are in their cribs.  The teachers say it is cute, but I find it hard to believe my kid singing for over an hour while you're trying to get 9 other children to sleep is cute.  I worked in childcare.  That totally wouldn't fly in my room.  It was a gorgeous afternoon, but Ryann pleaded with me when we got home to please please please get out the ball pit.  So I did.  Later she made a disaster with all her toys.  Typical.  Also typical is being crazy in the bath.

friday
iphonepics_04_22_12_Friday

Friday we went to visit my friend Emily and her two month old baby, Brooks.  But let me back up a bit, we were bringing lunch for all of us, as well as dinner (brought overnight meatball casserole, Em said it was good!  Perfect easy dish to take to new mamas).  For lunch I was planning on bringing cashew chicken wraps, so Chris had grabbed a rotisserie chicken from the store the evening before.  Well I went to shred the thing around 10:15am (we were supposed to be at Emily's at 11:15), and IT WASN'T cooked.  Like incredibly pink on the inside.  I was so surprised/ticked/at a loss.  I turned on my oven and tried to cook it, but it too almost an hour.  Ridiculous.

Anyway, eventually we made it to Emily's with lots of delicious food.  Ryann agreed to hold Brooks, but quickly freaked out :o).  That afternoon she took over my coloring book, as usual.  Then I impressed myself by making a complete train track, with only one piece left!  Ryann told me I couldn't touch her sharp knife.  Kid, if it is a sharp knife I would suggest not using your leg as a cutting board...

saturday
iphonepics_04_22_12_Saturday

We met up with my parents out at The Legends.  They were taking us out to lunch for my birthday.  We did a bit of shopping, and I think I need to go back.  It has been a while since I'd been and there are some good outlet stores out there!

week in iphone pics

Friends, this week was a good one.  Lots of fun was had.

sunday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Sunday

Ryann and Christopher had a little daddy/daughter breakfast date while I tackled a ten mile long run with Jill.  I think breakfast would have been a little more fun, but I survived the run :o).  I was craving some sun dried tomato basil hummus, so a trip to Trader Joe's was in order.  And Sunday evening I satisfied another craving (thanks to Amy instagramming a million fro yo pics) with a fro yo trip with friends.  I may have gone a little crazy with the candy, but tried to justify it with the fact that I'd run 10 miles that morning.

monday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Monday

After the gym Ryann and I headed to Jenn and JT's house for a little playdate.  JT was too cute, and had to pull his chair right up next to Ryann while they were coloring.  Do you see that face pinching in the picture of Ryann and I?  Yeah, love hurts.  She was in a crazy mood that afternoon and was running laps around the family room.  And just a clean happy little girl.

tuesday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Tuesday

Just a little morning cheese.  Tuesday morning Ryann and I ventured over to a larger local park, played on the playground, and went for our own version of a hike.  That afternoon she surprised me by playing independently for a quite a while.  The only downside to that is that the family room is usually a disaster zone when she is done.  During bathtime Ry organized her little minions.  And we had a mirror photo shoot.  Whats new.

wednesday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Wednesday

Ryann was trying to drag that laundry basket around the house, telling me she was goign to go switch the laundry.  I hope her enthusiasm for that continues when she is actually big enough to help!  She also decided mommy and Ryann needed to wear headbands.  Chris snapped that picture before he left for work.  Yes, the first two both happened before 7am...  We went out to lunch with grammy where Ryann concentrated really hard on her coloring.  The weather was great after nap so we had snack on the porch and colored with sidewalk chalk.  Ryann had a lot of fun playing a little alphabet game we made.  I wrote the letters all over the driveway and had her find different letters, find them in order, etc.  Cheap, easy, educational fun.

thursday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Thursday

I pulled on a button up Thursday morning, and even though it isn't something I'd usually wear, Chris told me it was cute.  Aaand Ryann asked me why I was wearing a boy shirt.  Meh.  While Ryann was at MDO I cleaned out the pantry.  Fun stuff.  She has an awesome cheese face and apparently thinks Jimmy John's stickers are mustaches.

friday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Friday

I took another rest day hoping for fresh legs before the half marathon on Saturday, so we hung out around the house and played for a while in the morning.  Eventually we ran some errands, went out to lunch and picked up my race packet.  Apparently all of that wore Ryann out because she struggled to stay awake on the ride home.  Friday evening Chris and I kicked off a whirlwind weekend, driving out of town for our friends' rehearsal dinner.  Nothing like the middle of nowhere Kansas for a scenic drive...  :o)

saturday
iphonepics_04_15_12_Saturday

Saturday was a busy busy day.  I kicked off my morning at 7am with a half marathon.  No big deal.  I finished in under two hours, WOOT WOOT!  More on that tomorrow.  After a quick shower and shipping Ryann off with the grandparents we were in the car again heading to a wedding.  I jump started my recovery with some chocolate milk and compression sleeves.  Today I am really wishing I would have had some compression shorts as well, my hips are hurting!  That afternoon we got to watch two of our close friends, Hanna and Joey, say their vows.  It was a beautiful wedding of course.  And that night was pretty epic, Chris and I made it to the after party, and stayed out until 1am.  For us, that is crazy talk :o).
