a new bed, perhaps?

I love our guest room (minus the fact that Chris's med school books are all over the floor and his desk is generally covered in pop cans, hi hubby!) but the bed has been sans headboard for far too long.

I have always thought the Colette Bed from Crate & Barrel would be perfect (helps that they show the bed with my duvet :o), but there is no way I could stomach the $1600 price tag.

Then go figure, the past week I was directed to a decor pad post that showed a very similar bed by Urban Home for only $600. Still a little pricey, but WAY better than $1600. So much better that I am really tempted to get it.

However there are also these options from JC Penny...

So if it were your guest bedroom, which would you choose? Should I go for one of the cheaper JC Penny options, get the Crate and Barrel bed wannabe, or do you like that last JC Penny option, the Rhonda bed?

If it were my guest room I would go with the cheaper JC Penny option, I'm always looking to save a dollar and I like the buttons and straight lines. I guess if you need the whole bed then the wannabe Crate and Barrel bed.

Personally, I'd go for the cheaper option especially since it's for a guest room. I think you still get a similar look, but for a smaller price tag. Are you in to DIY at all? If so, there are TONS of tutorials out there on how to DIY a tufted headboard. Some of the results are awesome!

For a guest room I would get the cheaper one.

I think you should make one--it really isn't that hard!

Check out Emily's tutorial here:

Stephanie- I would love to DIY my own headboard, I just don't think I have the patience to get the quality I want. I'm terrible at completing projects!

I like the JCP headboard, but the Urban Home one is gorgeous too! I would probably go the cheaper route though, since it is a guest room. :)

*sleeps in that bedroom* It looks so incredibly cozy, even without a headboard.

since i only paid $300 for my bedframe, i'd def go with the jcp cheaper version :) the urban home one is pretty amazing, but once you have the other in your house, probably forget all about the other lol

The cheap one since it is for a guest bedroom.

I'd say go with the cheaper one for the guest bedroom. If it was your master I'd go more expensive.

I like the Rhonda bed. I would say go cheaper for the guest room, more $$ for the master.

The Button Tufted Headboard from JCP is actually my favorite AND it's the cheapest, so I'd definitely go with that!

It's haunting you too? It's a gorgeous bed, girl!

I say one of the JCP beds since it's the guest room. Love them both but I'd go with the Kristen - I think the lines of it might go better with the window above the bed.

And I can SO identify with all the books! My husband's been out of residency over 2 years and our office still looks like that. And don't even get me started on all the journals he gets in the mail...ugh.

Hi,

Found you blog through Censational girl yesterday. Great find at Urban Home!!
I've been debating on whether to shell out the $1600 to C&B as well....

I just wanted to share with you that I came across another similar Colette looking headboard yesterday at Costco.com. Get this... it's only $249 and that includes shipping. That's almost the same price as making one.
