sugar overload

I keep saying I'm going to get back on track with my eating habits.  But last week?  Definitely wasn't one of those weeks.  Or the weekend rather.  Thanks to Ryann's birthday party and my lack of self control I overloaded my body with sugar this weekend.  And I am paying for it.

When I eat too much sugar, everything in my body hurts.  Pretty much Chris can't hug me right now.  It sucks.  And it is my own fault.  Chris took some of the leftover treats to work today, so hopefully that will help me kick this crap out of my system and not keep eating it.  We do still have half a cake and some other goodies left though... MUST. HAVE. SELF. CONTROL.

Not only did my eating get off track a lot last week, but so did my workouts.  I still managed 4, but one was only a 2.75 mile walk, so to me it feels more like 3.  Which felt like not enough at all.  Monday and Tuesday were fine, I did the barbell strength class, and cover 6.2 miles (the last 3 with a run/walk combo) on the treadmill on Tuesday.  I took Wednesday and Thursday off, went for a walk with Ryann on Friday, took Saturday off, and covered just under 5 miles yesterday (probably just under a mile of that was walking).  So it isn't like I didn't work out or anything, but it definitely felt wrong to me.

This week I want to hold myself to only one sweet treat after lunch and dinner (because claiming I'd only eat one a day is just silly, there are too many in my house still right now).  I also want to make sure I only skip a workout on Thursday and maybe Saturday.  Lastly I NEED to drink at least 72+ ounces of water each day to flush all this junk out of my system.

Summer is coming.  Now (or anytime really) is not the time to completely fall of the wagon.  Swimsuits are in my near future!!

Seriously, walking does not feel like working out at ALL to me! I have to keep reminding myself that it is STILL better than sitting on the couch!

Hopefully my link shows this week! I am going to have one of those difficult weeks next week when I celebrate my lil mans 2nd birthday!

I'm having trouble with the treats too! With the weather being so nice we are doing the BBQ thing a lot more.

I have to keep up on the water too. It's at least nice to know that other people share these issues, makes me feel less like I'm failing at this after so long making the right choices. Don't mean that in a bad way, just in a we have to hang together sort of way. :)

I'm the opposite of you...I gave up sweets for lent, so I am counting the minutes until Sunday. ;)

I figure today's a new week, so you should be set to go for a good week this week. A new start.
