back at it

It is time.  Time for me to get back in to a groove.  I've been a little out of sorts this summer, not posting as much as I like, and just in general not accomplishing as much as I hoped for.  So I decided bringing back 'a day in the life', as well as 'move it monday' would be a good start.  So although it is a little later in the day than I hoped, I hereby declare this 'move it monday' once again.  You'll have the opportunity to link up next week.  Get your posts ready!  Please, at least one person play along with me?  :o)

Announcement1

Even though I haven't been talking about it, I have in fact still been working out and running.  June and July were a little rocky, because it was HOT.  And there is only so much treadmill I can take.  I had grand plans of training for a marathon this fall, but, well it isn't going to happen.  It's alright, I think I'm more of a spring marathon type anyway.  Give me long runs in the dead of winter over sweltering heat any day (and remind me I said that when it is super cold and I don't want to do a long run).

I've still been getting in 3-4 runs every week, and keeping my running mileage around 14-18 a week.  A couple of days a week I just walk, and sometimes I tack on my new favorite, the stationary bike.  Which is only my new favorite simply because I can whip out 5-7 miles a lot faster on the bike than on the treadmill, and it makes my weekly mileage a lot higher on daily mile :o).  Stupid?  Yes.  Do I care?  No.  I'll put in an hour on the bike each week if I get to add 14 miles to my total.

Go figure, I have 100% slacked off on weight training.  Occasionally I'll make myself do some push-ups, but other than that strength workouts have been pretty few and far between.  Must must MUST change that soon.  I had been doing so good!  I need to get back to my barbell class.  The only problem with that one is that it goes until 10:15, so if we have a playdate scheduled I have to either leave class early, or we can't be anywhere until closer to 10:45.  That doesn't always work out.

Now even though I'm going to opt out of the marathon this fall, I still have my sights set on another half.  But for this one I won't be going for a personal record, and training has been just a little bit different...

Oh my goodness! Congrats! For some reason I had a sense you were pregnant again.

I'm super impressed you're able to work out so much during this pregnancy...I haven't run since I was 10 weeks because my low blood pressure was getting in the way. It's going to be painful once I start running again after baby girl comes...

I knew it!!! Well, actually, I did know it because I've seen you on the Bump as well, but I kind of had a feeling back when you stopped doing Move It Monday.
Anyway, congrats!!! I'm really looking forward to baby-related posts, seeing the new nursery & big girl room, and seeing how Ryann embraces her role as a big sister.
