my memories suite {giveaway}

***  this giveaway is closed  ***

Towards the end of middle school I got pretty into scrapbooking.  Well my first album was pretty sad and pathetic looking, but throughout high school and the first year of college I printed tons of pictures, bought tons of paper and embellishments and scraped my little heart out.  I LOVE looking back at all of those memories.  I think the scrapbook presentation makes them seem very personal.

But... it was time consuming.  And if you've ever worked on a scrapbook, man, you know the mess you can make.  Tons of paper everywhere, pictures, scraps, glue, the list goes on and on.  I could spend a long time working, make a huge mess, and only be done with one or two spreads.  I got annoyed with getting everything out and putting it away over and over again.  I'm pretty sure the scrapbook I have for my senior year of college has zero spreads, just empty pages with a stack of photos slipped in the sleeve waiting to be worked on.

What could possibly be a solution to this problem?  Why technology of course.  I was contacted by a representative at My Memories, asking me to review their digital scrapbooking software, My Memories Suite.  I'll admit at first I was a bit skeptical.  For one, scrapbooking hasn't really been my 'thing' for quite some time.  Also, I have the entire Adobe Creative Suite.  I have plenty of technology at my fingertips for organizing my photos and memories in an aesthetically pleasing way.  But I was happily surprised by the software.  Less than 20 minutes after opening the software I created this little number:

mymemoriesgiveawaypage

Ok so it is a bit short of spectacular.  But did I mention I did it in less than 20 minutes?  The software is fairly easy to navigate, and several parts of it operate quite similarly to my beloved design software.  I am a type junky, and as far as I can tell I didn't have as much control over letter or line spacing as I would personally like, BUT I think the software is excellent for creating a scrapbook on the computer.

The software comes with some cute papers and embellishments, and currently there are 93 free paper or embellishment kits listed online.  Other kits are available for purchase in the online store ranging in price from $0.99 to roughly $8.  When you start an album, you can make something completely from scratch, or you can use a fully designed page set as a template.  There seems to be nearly endless possibilities.

There are also several options for what to do when you finish an album.  You can print the pages off and put them in a scrapbook, have your album professionally printed and bound, or you can make an interactive digital album to save to a disc or even an ipod ready video.  Sounds like fun right?

Lucky for you I am giving away one copy of the My Memories Suite software.  To enter the giveaway visit the My Memories website and tell me your favorite digital paper pack.  For additional entries you can become a follower of the My Memories blog, like My Memories on facebook or like The Domestic Wannabe on facebook.  Please leave a separate comment for each entry.

The giveaway will be open until 10:00pm CST on Monday, November 14th.  A winner will be announced Tuesday, November 15th.

If you want to just go ahead and buy yourself a copy of the software, use the code STMMMS38572 at checkout to receive $10 off the My Memories Suite software and a $10 coupon to the My Memories store.

I'm too Type-A for scrapbooking - all of the cutting and potential to mess up expensive or favorite stuff just has always made me push scrapbooking to the back burner. But, digital scrapbooking is much more my style! I think my favorite digital paper pack would be the Wood Frames. Thanks for the chance to win!! :)
